Douche Manouche serves up their jazz hot: driving rhythms, daredevil solos and soaring vocals. Founded in 2013 by guitarists Mike Skinner and Robert Strobl who met at one of KL's infamous open mic nights at the Warehouse bar, getting together to explore the music and techniques of the great gypsy-jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt and played every open mic going.
Only a few months after forming, the duo discovered vocalist, Mathilde Limal, again courtesy of the Warehouse. A couple of months later Jonathan came to one of our gigs at Ril’s bar, jumped on stage, plugged in his violin and started playing - it was love at the first sight. We finally found our Grappelli. By then the band was usually performing together with session bass players. In 2014 Zulhilmy joined the band on the upright bass.
Since forming, the band have been quickly flooded with offers to host open-mic evenings, play at upmarket cocktail bars and at various events. Douche Manouche was born. Their repertoire consists of popular swing tunes from the 30’s and 40’s with many of the compositions of the legendary Django Reinhardt. They perform regularly in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

After classical studies, the French soprano Mathilde Limal participates in different projects.
